The Role

We are looking for Catering Assistants to join our team at our New Wycliffe Residential Home, based in Rushey Mead, Leicester, which provides high quality residential care to older people with sensory impairments.

In this role you will;

• Prepare and cook hot breakfasts, simple hot meals and cakes
• Produce food to help facilitate a healthy balanced diet
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen
• Present food and drink in an appetizing way to encourage enjoyment
• Maintain and clean all kitchen surfaces, fixtures and fittings.

You will be required to work flexibly either 18 or 21 hours per week Monday – Sunday between the hours of 7.00am – 7.30pm, including alternate weekends and bank holidays. With the ability to cover for sickness and holidays when required.

You will need a current Food Hygiene Certificate, good verbal communication skills, the ability to work on own initiative, and also to work effectively as part of a team.

Previous catering experience and of working with people in a residential or health setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
