About Mill Lodge Hospital

Mill lodge is a small independent hospital, 26 bedded for adults of 18 and above who are experiencing acute mental health issues. Situated in the middle of Kegworth, close to Nottingham, Derby and Leicester it has good and easy access. The hospital has 4 wards of either 6 or 7 beds and caters for both male and female in single sex accommodation. Providing a comprehensive pathway of acute admissions services for men and women on a formal or informal basis. We support individuals experiencing difficulties due to a range of conditions. We have a new PICU service which is due to open in 2021 for six service users.

Our team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families, and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge.

The Role

Requirements for our Cook Supervisor

As our Cook Supervisor you will be the heart of our impendent newly refurbished hospital kitchen. You will be overseeing a fantastic team, day to day operational running of the kitchen. preparing fresh, home cooked meals, cooking breakfasts, lunches and freshly made hot dishes for evening mealtime. Serving meals and compilation of menus, maintaining kitchen cleaning schedules. Ensuring all preparation areas are kept clean. You will be responsible for ordering and stock rotation, temperature checks, food safety. Complying to company policies and procedures and following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines. From time to time, you will assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties. Beyond that, it is all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people.

The ideal Cook Supervisor

  • Responsibilities include supervising the kitchen team, ensuring all employees adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Essential cook experience 4 to 5 years managing a kitchen and a small team.
  • Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Whenever you communicate with our service users or colleagues, you will be truly considerate and kind.
  • We are looking for individuals who share our energy and passion and will contribute to our ongoing success.
  • Excellent communication
  • Effective organisational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety matters in relation to services and risk management
  • Willing to work a rota pattern covering Breakfast, lunches and dinner and weekends, over a 7-day period including bank holidays.
