The Role
I am an active, intelligent, 53-year-old man with complex hidden disabilities, mobility and balance problems who uses walking aids to assist me. I require social, emotional, balance, domestic and care support.
I'm seeking a proactive, Personal Assistant to join my established, dynamic, support team.
The successful candidate will work a minimum of ten hours per week, Monday, Thursday, Friday 5.00 pm – 7.00 pm and Saturday or Sunday 10.00 am – 2.00 pm, with additional hours offered four weeks in advance for covering team members' periods of holiday and sickness. You will work predominately on a one-to-one basis and the duties are varied. In-house training can be provided.
With support I'm a successful publisher, author, and local elected representative. I have a wide range of interests, which include (and are not restricted to); shopping, cinema, fish keeping, dog walking, gardening, supporting the local community through my elected posts & literary works.
I have two, small, very friendly dogs.
I would like my Personal Assistant to support me with every aspect of my social, publishing, community, and personal care. Direct personal care isn't a requirement, but I do need prompting to undertake tasks. The list of required tasks is varied and not exhaustive and can change without notice so it is essential that you are flexible and adaptable.
The Personal Assistant will not be expected to carry out every aspect of the role within the scheduled timeslot, but the successful applicant must be willing and able to support me with every aspect of the role.
Benefits include;
5.6 weeks paid holiday
Review of hourly rate after probationary period
Mileage rate of 45p per mile
Except for vehicle driver training, my support team can provide in-house training if required. Vehicle insurance states drivers must be over 25 years old.
If you are proactive, caring, with excellent communication skills and have a good sense of humour, willing to "get your hands dirty" helping with gardening tasks, can follow protocols, guidelines, and instructions, then this could be the role for you.
If you are looking for a varied, unique, dynamic, exciting, and rewarding support work opportunity which will enhance yours and my life and you have the desire to assist me with supporting the wider community's interests then get in touch.
