The Role

Are you looking for a chance to earn some extra money?

Or are you interested in seeing if support work is the career for you?

You'll join us as a Relief (Bank) Support Worker covering the shifts at our registered care service in Glenfield, Leicester.

About the Role

The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave/sickness/training/unforeseen circumstances. As such, hours are non specific but the service will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.

We normally plan the rotas one month in advance and there is no obligation to accept the work. If you unable to do any shifts you will remain on our Relief register for 3 months before automatically dropping off. Of course the more you put in, the more you will get out of this. Could also be a great way to see if this is the career path for you whilst earning some extra money at the same time!

At this MacIntyre service there are 3 neighbouring properties and you will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, taking them out into the local community and supporting them in activities such as swimming, walking, listening to music, going to the cinema and theatre, shopping or out for meals.

Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication. They can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service and Senior Practitioners. The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable.

Who are we?

We use person centred approaches to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. What we need from you
