The Role

MacIntyre is an award-winning national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. We use person centred approaches to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them.

We're looking for a full time support worker to join our very small and friendly residential home very close to the city center.

You will be supporting 2 of our ladies and 1 gentleman with a range of activities from the everyday living needs and 'must dos' (such as assisting with medications, supporting with attending health and medical appointments, moving and handling), through to the lighter side of life doing things like going to the cinema, taking a walk to the local shops to get magazines, helping to cook delicious healthy meals and getting involved with arts and crafts. There may also be some personal care involved.

You'll also be supporting our adults with personal development through taking part in our highly praised training program.

This role is 37.5 hours per week working on a rota that consists of shifts covering; 7.30-2.45 or 2.30-10pm with possible sleeps at the service.

What we need from you

The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it's something you'll never forget.

As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we'll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support.

You must be a driver with a manual licence, and have been driving for over 12 months in order to comply with the insurance on the service vehicle.
