The Role

As a Support Worker you will be responsible for the day to day management of one of our supported housing schemes in the Stoneygate area of Leicester. Tasks include:

  • Providing support to Service Users and promoting the development of life skills
  • Drawing up, and regularity reviewing, individual support plans based on assessed needs.
  • Encouraging the development of a friendly and mutually supportive environment.
  • Assisting Service Users in obtaining grants / benefits to which they are entitled

The role also involves providing cover across other supported housing schemes – all located in the Leicester area (See the Job Description for more information on the job role - available in the documents section).

If you have previous experience of supporting adults with mental health needs, then this role could be perfect for you! We are looking for committed individuals who are driven by a desire to make real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults. Desired qualities and skills include:

  • warm and empathic
  • organised and self-motivated, with a 'can do' attitude
  • experienced in supporting those with mental health needs, with a positive approach to promoting independence
  • excellent communication and organisational skills

As the role involves working in multiple locations within Leicester / Leicestershire, the successful candidate will need the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner including at short notice.
