The Role

Amberwood is a 44 bed family run care home for the elderly in Wigston. We really care about what we do. Every member of staff is equally as important in their individual roles within the home. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Cook.

The right candidate must be available to work additional shifts to cover sickness and holiday cover.
You will work under the direction of the Catering manager, and on shift will be responsible for the running of the kitchen, and supervision of the two kitchen assistants that work alongside you, as well as working in harmony with the other departments in the home.

You must be honest, reliable and hard working, with good communications skills and able to interact with the residents of the home. You should be a good communicator, with a happy disposition and a positive outlook.

A current Food Hygiene Certificate is advantageous, as well as previous experience working in a care home environment, however, full training will be provided to you, before taking your place as Cook on the rota.
