Do you want to make a difference in your community? Are you caring, compassionate, and driven by a passion for helping others? Do you want to do your part during the COVID-19 pandemic? We want to hear from you!

With the coronavirus outbreak, Inspired to Care (part of Leicestershire County Council), are supporting frontline care businesses to recruit new care professionals (often known as carers or care workers) to join their teams. With the possibility of up to 40% of the workforce going into isolation, we need people, like you, to help us protect the most vulnerable people across Leicestershire.

Our employers are looking for temporary and permanent staff to help during the crisis and its completely up to you to choose what type of contract you would prefer. We hope many people love it so much in social care that they find their vocation and decide to stay. However, we also understand that some people will be looking for temporary roles.

What is the role?

Care professionals work out in the community, providing care in peoples' own homes, or in care homes to provide personal care, wellbeing support, and help with everyday tasks.

We help older people with a range of needs. As a care professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring that those most vulnerable to this virus are given the care and support they need during this challenging time.

What are the requirements?

You do not need any prior experience or qualifications to join our teams but if you have experience, that may mean you need to undergo shorter training. We will provide you with all the training you need to be confident in your new role. All we require, is that you have the essential values and behaviours that mean you will help us to deliver high-quality care to the people we support.

What hours would I be working?

We have a range of contracts and shift patterns available and we will work with you to find the role that matches your preferences.

What is the application process?

If we decide to proceed, you will be invited to complete a short application form and a telephone interview with one of our friendly team. Don't worry, the interview will just be our chance to explore your values and suitability to the different roles that offer different things.

Who would be my employer?

Inspired to Care / Leicestershire County Council are not the employer for these roles. We are working with care providers across Leicestershire to help them to find new community care professionals during the pandemic. Your help would be greatly received, and you can make a real difference during this unprecedented time.

Am I safe to carry out care work in the community?

Don't worry, your employer will ensure you have all the relevant training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before you start work. You will also have senior colleagues and managers who will support you to stay safe and well.
